Both eight -hour introductory courses and four -hour refresher courses are offered
throughout the year and at various times of the day.
AARP volunteers work with more than 18,000 local community organizations to offer more than
30,000 AARP driver safety courses nationwide every year. To recognize the host organizations,
AARP developed the Top 100 Hosts award. AARP Driver Safety's Top 100 Hosts are
recognized based on the following criteria. Of the thousands of organizations that held a course
in 2013, AARP selected the hosts that reached the largest number of participants and the highest
number of courses. Using these criteria, it allowed AARP to recognize tremendously supportive
hosts, not necessarily located in as densely populated areas.
The New Brighton Community Center was ranked number 15!
Presenting the award is Mr. Sherwin Singsaas; District Coordinator, AARP Driver Safety
( "Smart Driver ")
Costs and Funding:
None
eidi Sedlacek
Recreation Supervisor
