Public Hea ring on <br />F d & D . k 500 5th A NW R N 14 179 the Application for an <br />2. <br />00 nn , venue. eport o. -. 0 S I L' n a e Iquor <br />City Manager Lotter indicated Public Safety Director Jacobson would be presenting this item to the Council. <br />Public Safety Director Jacobson stated Scott Tilton of Exchange LLC doing business as The <br />Exchange Food and Drink at 500 5th Avenue NW has applied for an on sale liquor license. The <br />requisite background check completed by Public Safety revealed no reason to deny this <br />request. This location is the former site of Our Bar and Grill, Glory Days Sports Bar and Grill, <br />and Mustang Tavern. City ordinances require a public hearing prior to the issuance of an <br />intoxicating liquor license. Notice was published in the City's designated newspaper and a <br />notice was posted at City Hall. Staff recommended approval of the on sale liquor license for <br />Scott Tilton for The Exchange Food and Drink. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen requested to hear from the applicant. Scott Tilton, Exchange Food <br />& Drink, introduced himself and his partners to the Council. He discussed his plans for the site <br />noting the food would be fresher, farm to table. He anticipated that this establishment would <br />be more of a restaurant that served drinks than a bar that served food. <br />Councilmember Burg wished Mr. Tilton all the best as New Brighton residents were in need of <br />a quality restaurant. <br />Mayor Jacobsen agreed. <br />Councilmember Strub questioned when the Exchange would be open for business. Mr. Tilton <br />hoped to have the restaurant open for business the first week in August. <br />Councilmember Burg encouraged Mr. Tilton to have a presence at Stockyard Days. <br />Motion by Councilmember Burg, seconded by Councilmember Jacobsen to open the <br />Public Hearing. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays -Motion Carned <br />The Public Hearing was opened at 7:14 p.m. <br />Mayor Jacobsen asked for additional comments. <br />Chuck Malloy was pleased that a restaurant with quality food was coming to the City of New <br />Brighton . He believed that the seniors in the City would take advantage of this . <br />Motion by Councilmember Bauman, seconded by Councilmember Jacobsen to close the <br />Public Hearing. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays -Motion Carned <br />The Public Hearing was closed at 7: 15 p.m. <br />Motion by Councilmember Jacobsen, seconded by Councilmember Burg to adopt the Resolution <br />Granting an On Sale Liquor License to Mr. Scott Tilton for The Exchange Food and <br />Drink. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays-Motion Carned <br />Council Business <br />1.
