Legislative History: At the August 27, 2013 Council meeting, Council approved the use of temporary signage for the 2013 ThrivExpo. Financial Impact: Last year, an estimated 325 people attended the ThrivExpo. There were 43 paid exhibitors resulting in a revenue of $1,925. These exhibitors rely on foot traffic to determine if they want to register and pay the exhibitor fee. The goal of utilizing the temporary signs is to increase the visibility of the event and therefore, increase the number of attendees community wide. Explanation: ThrivExpo is an exhibitor event taking place at the New Brighton Community Center on Thursday, September 18 from 1:00 pm — 4:00 pin to provide adults 55+ access to local health opportunities and senior services. The event will include senior service vendors, wellness vendors, light refreshments and prize giveaways. The event is being marketed through the use of news releases, direct mailings, CTV, social media, the city website and city publications. Temporary signage will be placed along the main traffic areas to further promote ThrivExpo from September 4- September 18. The sign ordinance in the Zoning Code Policy 9 -040, (2)F allows for temporary signs for civic celebrations and events.
