Of <br />��1 Report Number I4 -211 <br />M-fl Agenda Section V14 <br />thr, city that works for yogi Council Meeting Date August 26, 2014 <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION: CONSIDERATION OF CHANGE ORDER 1 AND PARTIAL <br />PAYMENT 2 AND FOR PROJECT 12 -14, WATER TREATMENT PLANT 1 EXTERIOR <br />RECOATING PACKAGE. <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD'S APPROVAL: ") <br />CITY MANAGER'S APPROVAL: <br />No comments to sunolement this retort Comments attached <br />Recommendation: To approve Change OiUaf 1 in the amount of $5,771.00 and Partial Payment <br />2 in the amount of $1,380.35 to Heineman Coatings, Inc. for City Project 12 -14, Water <br />Treatment Plant 1 Exterior Recoating Package. <br />Legislative History: This work was originally included in the 2412 annual work plan with the <br />United States Array. <br />Financial Impact: On September 25, 2012, the City Council authorized and approved the low <br />quotation from Heineman Coatings, Inc. in the amount of $35,253 for Project 12 -14, Water <br />Treatment Plant l Exterior Recoating Package. $54,000 for this work was budgeted in the annual <br />work plan. <br />The attached change order includes preparation and coating of Wellhouse 14 exterior, as well as <br />miscellaneous touch -up within the WTP #1. <br />A review of the work completed and payment recommendation has been completed by Barr <br />Engineering. Please see attached invoice and recommendation letter. <br />Explanation: This work completed includes power washing, chemical cleaning,, and the <br />application of special sealant coatings to the exposed aggregate and pre -cast concrete exterior <br />precast surfaces at Water Treatment Plant I located at 3001 5th Street NW. It also includes <br />caulking between the precast panels, at the weather proofing terminal bar, and various other <br />exterior locations. This work has been completed in its entirety. Change Order I adds additional <br />scope to this project. This work has not yet been completed. <br />Funding: The total cost of this project will be funded from Fund 206 — NBCGRS Army Water <br />Fund. <br />_4u! A� <br />Grant M.
