August 26, 2014 Page 8 of 8 <br />explained that Shoreview has withdrawn from the ten city Cable Commission. She stated the <br />Cable Commission had concern with the new cable company (Midwest Cable) that would be <br />serving the metro area. She read a letter that was drafted by the Cable Commission regarding <br />Midwest Cable for the Council. <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg reported the Public Safety Commission did not meet in August. She <br />indicated the group would meet again on September 29th at 6:30 p.m. at the Public Safety <br />Building. She was proud of the 10 members of the Public Safety Department that took part in <br />the Shawn Silvera Memorial run. She reminded the public to keep an eye out for children on <br />the street as school starts on September 2nd. She explained the Taste of Northeast event would <br />be held on October 22nd in Vadnais Heights. <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported the EDC did not meet in August. An email update was <br />provided to EDC members on the actions taken place in The Exchange. He stated the EDC <br />would meet again on September 17th at 7:30 a.m. at City Hall. He wished everyone a safe and <br />happy Labor Day weekend. <br />Brian Strub <br />Councilmember Strub encouraged residents to get out and golf the Brightwood Hills course. <br />He stated he took part in the Shawn Silver Run and was pleased to see a large number of <br />Public Safety members there as well. She reported PREC would meet again on September 3rd <br />at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. <br />Mayor Jacobsen <br />Mayor Jacobsen reported he was contacted by a resident that would like to have cooperation <br />with the Council to establish a celebration at Hanson Park on National Night Out in 2015. <br />Adjournment <br />Motion by Councilmember Bauman, seconded by Councilmember Jacobsen to adjourn <br />the meeting. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays- Motion Carried, <br />Meeting adjourned at 8:55 p.m. <br />Dave Jacobsen, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />Karen Halley, Deputy City Clerk <br />Adjournment <br />The meeting adjourned <br />at 8:55 p.m. <br />
