Records Management System <br />Public Safety Director Jacobson provided the Council with information on the proposed records management <br />system shift. He explained that the City of St. Paul would no longer be providing records management <br />services for New Brighton effective January of 2015. He commented that the new records management system <br />from Zuercher would be utilized by Ramsey County and the City of Mounds View. He discussed the benefits <br />of having cooperative efforts for this system and the amount of information that would be shared. It was his <br />hope that the City of St. Paul would also select the Zuercher system. <br />Mayor Jacobsen questioned what other entities were using the Zuercher system. Public Safety Director <br />Jacobson provided the Council with a list of cities currently using the Zuercher system. He was proud to report <br />that Zuercher had not lost a customer in the last 11 years. He reviewed a number of positive feedback <br />comments that had been received from Zuercher clientele. He discussed the cost saving measures that would <br />be received due to the fact that Ramsey County would be hosting the file servers for the Zuercher system. <br />Councilmember Burg questioned how long this system would serve the City. Public Safety Director Jacobson <br />discussed how technology was continually changing but anticipated that this system would serve the City for <br />the next five years. <br />Councilmember Bauman encouraged New Brighton staff to stay involved with Ramsey County with regards to <br />the records management system. <br />Mayor Jacobsen thanked staff for the information on this item and recommended the records management <br />system approval be placed on the Consent Agenda. <br />Worksession adjourned at 6:19 pm <br />
