RESOLUTION No. 14— <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> RESOLUTION approving revisions to the Future Land Use Map, Figure 5-2, of the <br /> New Brighton 2030 Comprehensive Plan. <br /> WHEREAS, the City of New Brighton initiated a Comprehensive Plan amendment <br /> revising the guide plan designation of a parcel located along railroad right-of-way, <br /> generally west of Old Highway 8 NW, south of the New Brighton/Mounds View <br /> municipal boundary, north and west of Rush Lake, and east of Rice Creek and Long Lake <br /> Regional Park, and <br /> WHEREAS, the parcel proposed for the guide plan change is abutting the <br /> Murlowski Properties Inc. parcel located at 2200 Old Highway 8 NW (Belair Excavating) <br /> and has a Parcel Identification Number of 173023420006, and <br /> WHEREAS, the parcel is currently guided for OSP, Open Space Preservation, and <br /> WHEREAS,the proposed guide plan designation is LI, Light Industrial, and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of New Brighton published notice for a public hearing on the <br /> guide plan change in the September 5, 2014 edition of the Sun Focus and on the same <br /> date mailed notice to property owners within 350' and beyond of the parcel boundary, <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the New Brighton Planning Commission held a public hearing on <br /> September 16, 2014, pursuant to published and mailed notice, where all interested parties <br /> were heard, and <br /> WHEREAS, the New Brighton Planning Commission considered the request and <br /> found the proposed guide plan change from OSP, Open Space Preservation to LI, Light <br /> Industrial to be appropriate given existing and proposed land uses of the parcel and <br /> surrounding parcels as outlined in the Planning Report dated September 11, 2014, and <br /> WHEREAS, on September 16, 2014 the New Brighton Planning Commission <br /> recommended to the City Council approval of the request, and <br /> WHEREAS, on September 23, 2014 the New Brighton City Council considered the <br /> request and affirmed the staff and Planning Commission recommendations to approve the <br /> proposed amendment to Figure 5-2 of the New Brighton 2030 Comprehensive Plan. <br /> Now, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council of the City of New <br /> Brighton approves the Comprehensive Plan amendment revising Figure 5-2 and <br /> authorizes the proposed guide plan change to be released for any required review period <br /> and for submission to the Metropolitan Council. <br />
