IbOf M BRKITM the city that works for you Council Worksession September 9, 2014 5:15 pm Present: Mayor Dave Jacobsen Councilmember Gina Bauman Councilmember Brian Strub Councilmember Paul Jacobsen Councilmember Mary Burg Absent: Staff in Attendance: Dean Lotter Guests in Attendance: Planning Session for Teambuilding Retreat — Format and Program Lotter recommended a teambuilding retreat be held in 2015. He requested comments from the Council on what the teambuilding retreat would look like. Mayor Jacobsen believed working with Craig Rapp had been effective in the past. He suggested the schedule, timing and format be discussed further by the Council. Councilmember Burg recommended two dates be selected as soon as possible to allow the Council to review their calendars. She was in favor of holding the retreat in January 2015. Councilmember Bauman agreed the retreat should be scheduled for January. Councilmember Jacobsen recommended January 10th or January 17th for the Teambuilding Retreat. Discussion ensued regarding the agenda and format for the retreat. The Council agreed to keep the format centered on teambuilding as well as the six strategic planning items. Lotter reported he would circulate a tentative agenda to the Council. Scheduling of Urban Farming Worksession Discussion Lotter asked when the Council would like to further discuss the urban farming information. The Council was in favor of discussing this matter preliminarily on October 14th with it overflowing to October 28th if necessary. Councilmember Strub was in favor of having a public hearing at some point on the Urban Farming topic. Scheduling of Crosswalk Study for Worksession Discussions Lotter asked when the Council would like to further discuss the crosswalk study. The Council was in favor of discussing this matter on October 28th Stockyard Days The Council discussed the volunteer committee that handles Stockyard Days. The Council was in favor of discussing this matter further at a future meeting to ensure this event continues to be successful in the future. Lotter questioned when the Council wanted to address this matter. Councilmember Burg recommended the Council discuss Stockyard Days early in 2015.
