RESOLUTION NO. <br />14 -080 <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON REQUESTING THAT <br />RAMSEY COUNTY INSTALL A NEW CROSSWALK AT THE INTERSECTION OF <br />COUNTY ROAD E AND 16TH AVENUE. <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of New Brighton, Minnesota as follows: <br />WHEREAS, on August 26, 2014, the City of New Brighton Approved and Accepted a <br />Citywide Crosswalk Study (Study) addressing an area of need in this corridor; and <br />WHEREAS, local residents as a part of the Study have identified the need for a <br />school /pedestrian related crossing on County Road E. Properties located east of 16th Avenue <br />SW and south of County Road E are in the Mounds View School District and these students <br />attend Belair Elementary and Highview Middle School which are located north of County <br />Road E; and <br />WHEREAS, the crosswalk would be part of a Safe Routes to School corridor, crossing a <br />Ramsey County Road, and the City of New Brighton does not have jurisdiction. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council of the City of New Brighton <br />request Ramsey County installs a crosswalk at County Road E and 16th Avenue. <br />Adopted by the City Council of New Brighton, Minnesota this 23rd day of September 2014. <br />ATTEST: <br />Dave Jacobsen, Mayor <br />Dean R.
