September 9, 2014 Page 5 ofS <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays-Motion Carried <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates <br />Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter introduced Brenda Davitt noting she was recently hired as the City's <br />Finance Director. <br />Gina Bauman <br />Councilmember Bauman reported the Planning Commission would meet on September 16th . <br />She provided a brief report on the Cable Commission noting the merger of Time Warner and <br />Comcast was being reviewed by the FCC at this time. She discussed the formal and informal <br />negotiations with Comcast. She noted Greatland Communications will be taking over cable <br />services in the metro area in the near future. Further discussion ensued regarding how services <br />would change with the change-over of companies. <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg reported cleanup day would be held in New Brighton on September 13 th <br />at the Public Works Department. She welcomed Jody Boyd to the Public Safety Department. <br />She noted the Public Safety Commission would meet again on September 29th at 6:30 p.m. at <br />the Public Safety Building. <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported the EDC would meet on September 17th at 7:30 a.m. in the <br />Council worksession chambers. <br />Brian Strub <br />Councilmember Strub reported the PREC met on September 3 rd and discussed ice at Sunny <br />Square Park. <br />Mayor Jacobsen <br />Mayor Jacobsen reported the National League of Cities would be holding a regional conference <br />beginning on December 21 st addressing Climate Resilience.
