PLANNING REPORT <br /> DATE: July 11, 2011 <br /> CASE: SP2011-011 <br /> SUBJECT: Special Use Permit to allow construction of a fence taller than six feet <br /> APPLICANT: Al Westfall on behalf of Grace Point Church <br /> REQUEST&BACKGROUND <br /> The applicant is requesting a special use permit to allow construction of a 12' fence where the <br /> Zoning Code normally only allows a six foot fence. Section 4-540 (3) (F) allows "fences for <br /> special purposes and fences differing in construction, height, length, or location from the <br /> requirement of this section" through the issuance of a Special Use Permit. In order to approve <br /> the special use permit three findings must be met, which have been examined in this report. <br /> The applicant has stated a need for a taller fence due to their proximity to Brightwood Hills Golf <br /> Course. The applicant has stated in the attached narrative that errant golf balls have hit and <br /> damaged vehicles parking in their church lot.
