RESOLUTION <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT AND RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF A ZONING CODE <br /> AMENDMENT REQUEST. <br /> WHEREAS, an application has been made by Tim Larson on behalf of Dairy Queen at 409 Old <br /> Highway 8 NW to amend the Zoning Code to allow manual changeable copy signs when the <br /> current Zoning Code prohibits them per Section 9-040 (1) (F), and <br /> WHEREAS,the procedural history of the application is as follows: <br /> 1. An application for a Zoning Code Amendment was received on September 1, 2011. <br /> 2. The Planning Commission, pursuant to published notice, held a public hearing on September <br /> 20, 2011 and all present were given a chance to freely speak at the hearing. <br /> 3. The Planning Commission voted to recommend approval on September 20, 2011. <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission makes the following Findings of Fact with respect to the <br /> requested Zoning Code Amendment(ZA2011-003): <br /> 1. The property is zoned I-1, Light Industrial. <br /> 2. The property is guided in the Comprehensive Plan for BP, Business Park. <br /> 3. The applicant has proposed an amendment to Chapter 9 of the Zoning Code that would allow <br /> manual changeable copy signs, also known as reader boards. <br /> 4. Zoning Code Section 9-040 (1) (F) currently prohibits manual changeable copy signs <br /> throughout the entire City. <br /> 5.
