lj$kof�rm Report Number 14 -271 <br />Agenda Section VI -5 <br />the city that works for you Council Meeting Date November 12, 2014 <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION: Approve the use of temporary signage to promote Annual Health & <br />Fitness Expo <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD'S APPROVAL: Sandy Breuer, Director for Parks & Recreation <br />f <br />CITY MANAGER'S APPROVAL: <br />No comments to supplement this <br />Comments attached <br />Recommendation: <br />Approve the use of temporary signage to promote the 10th Annual Health & Fitness Expo at the <br />New Brighton Community Center. <br />Legislative History: <br />None <br />Financial Impact: <br />None <br />Explanation: <br />A health and fitness event will take place at the New Brighton Community Center on Saturday, <br />January 10, 2015 from 9:30 am -1:30 pm to provide the community access to local health and <br />fitness opportunities. The event will include a sampling of group fitness classes, wellness <br />vendors, membership drive, personal training discounts and prize giveaways. The event is being <br />marketed through the use of news releases, direct mailings, CTV, social media, the city website <br />and city publications. <br />From December 22- January 10, the temporary signage will be placed along main traffic areas to <br />further promote the Health & Fitness Expo event. The sign ordinance in the Zoning Code Policy <br />9 -040, (2)F allows for temporary signs for civic celebrations and events.
