<br />Feb/March 2004 Staff has been working with the Baptist Seminary to discuss <br />the City’s interest in their property. It has been <br />communicated to the Seminary staff that the City may like to <br />acquire their land, but at a discounted price from the 2002 <br />appraisal. Staff also indicated an interest in securing an 18 <br />month agreement in order to: <br /> <br />1. Discuss the project with potential partners. <br />2. Perform an environmental assessment. <br />3. Solicit public input. <br />4. Finalize park design. <br />5. Determine anticipated operations and maintenance <br />costs. <br /> <br /> At this point, City and Seminary staff have agreed to discuss <br />the preliminary agreement plans with their governing bodies. <br /> <br /> <br />April 2004 City Council work session. <br /> <br />April 2005 City Staff sent a letter to Baptist Seminary to state they were <br />prepared to recommend to the New Brighton City Council <br />that a formal offer of $120,000 be offered for payment for the <br />27.16 acres. This letter was not a formal offer. <br /> <br />May 2006 Council approved the New Brighton Parks, Recreation, and <br />Trail Strategic Plan.
