<br />Page 5 - September 27,2005 New Brighton Council Minutes <br /> <br />Council Member Doffing expressed her concerns about the City's use of eminent domain, <br /> <br /> <br />I 2, Consideration of a Type, 4 Non-conforming Use permit and setback variance <br />for 2830 Forestdale Rd. Report No, 05-215, <br /> <br />The City Planner gave an overview of the proposed project. It was explained that <br />this parcel is non-conforming, because it fails to meet front setback requirements. <br />Any addition or alteration requires a non conforming special use permit. It was <br />stated that the Planning Commission recommended denial of this application, <br /> <br />The homeowners; Steve and Judy Kuczenski offered an alternative plan, <br /> <br />The City Planner recommended approval of the Type 4 Non-conforming Use Permit, <br />and denying the setback variance, <br /> <br />The City Manager recommended the applicant bring their modified plans before the <br />Planning Conunission. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Hoffman, seconded by Council Member Moore-Sykes to <br />waive the reading and adopt the attached resolution approving of the Type 4 Non- <br />fnfOrming Use Permit for the laundry and family room additions only with the <br />llowing condition: <br />1. There are no changes to the location of the driveway. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nays, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Hoffman, seconded by Council Member Burg to table <br />The item adopting the attached resolution denying of the front yard setback variance. <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nays, Motion Carried <br /> <br />3, Consideration of a Comprehensive Sign Plan for the New Brighton Civic <br />Campus, Report No. 05-216, <br /> <br />The City Planner outlined the City's plan for signage, The Planning Commission <br />approved the sign plan as presented, <br /> <br />Council member Doffing questioned the timing of placement of Public Safety Center <br />signs, <br /> <br />The City Manager explained that this is being actively looked into, <br /> <br />lotion by Council Member Hoffman, seconded by Council Member Doffing to <br />aive the reading and adopt the attached resolution recommending approval of <br />POS-OS. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nays, Motion Carried <br /> <br />2.
