<br />MINUTES <br />New Brighton Economic Development Commission <br />Regular Meeting – January 21, 2015 <br />7:30 a.m. <br /> <br />Members/Liaisons Present: Chair Paul Zisla, Commissioners, D.L. Beach, Kevin Peck, Mike <br />Murlowski, Bruce Knight, Linda Zelm, Bob Benke and Councilmember Mary Burg <br /> <br />Members/Liaisons Absent: Commissioners Monica Garcia-Perez and Al Potter <br /> <br />Staff Present: Craig Schlichting, Director of Community Assets & Development, Janice Gundlach- <br />Assistant Director of Community Assets & Development/Planning Director <br />Also Present: <br />Call to Order <br />Chairperson Zisla called the meeting to order at 7:30 a.m. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />Motion by Commissioner Beach, seconded by Commissioner Knight to approve the minutes from the <br />December 17, 2014 meeting. <br /> <br />Approved 7-0 <br /> <br />Report from Council Liaison <br />Councilmember Mary Burg stated the Council recently attended a team building meeting. She reported <br />the Council was in favor of holding a joint meeting between the Council and the EDC. She discussed <br />the renovations taking place at the Community Center. <br /> <br />New Brighton Exchange Projects <br /> <br />Cardiovascular Systems, Inc. <br />Gundlach reported that Ryan Co. secured a temporary certificate of occupancy in December for the lab <br />and clean room manufacturing space. This space has been turned over to CSI and they have been <br />working on getting their operations in place. She noted that Ryan Co. is nearly done on the exterior and <br />wall signs have been hung on two of the building’s façade and a monument sign was complete at the <br />main entrance to the property. <br /> <br />Pulte Homes <br />Gundlach reported that Pulte had a “soft opening” at their Shoreview site over the weekend and reported <br />they sold six homes, which was a very successful start. Pulte continues to work on the two model <br />homes in New Brighton, with work expected to conclude by the end of February. She indicated Pulte <br />submitted an application for land use approval for the remaining phases/homes in the development. This <br />includes the remaining 28 single family homes and 36 townhomes. The Planning Commission <br />considered this application on January 20th and the Council will review the matter on January 27th. <br /> <br />APi Group Training Center <br />Gundlach reported that APi shut down construction operations for the season in November. <br />Construction will resume in the spring. It was noted that APi was required to complete the building by <br />December 31, 2015. <br /> <br />Not Approved
