<br />.4 <br /> <br />.. <br />-... <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />Council Member Ho f f ma n introduced the following <br />resolution, the reading of which was dispensed with by unanimous consent, and moved its <br />adoption: <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />ST A TE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 98-100 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING SPECIAL LEGISLATION. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council (the "Council") of the City of New Brighton, <br />Minnesota (the "City"), as follows: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Laws of Minnesota 1998, Chapter 389, Article 11, Section 24 (the <br />"Special Law") was enacted by the Legislature of the State of Minnesota and signed into law <br />by Governor Arne Carlson on April 21, 1998, and relates to special rules governing the use <br />of tax increment financing by the City within a designated area of the City; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Subdivision 3 of the Special Law provides that the Special Law is <br />effective upon approval by the governing bodies of the City and Ramsey County (the <br />"County") and that the City comply with Minnesota Statutes, Section 645.021, Subdivision 3; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, Section 645.021, Subdivision. 3 provides that upon <br />approval of the Special Law by the City and the County, the City must file with the Secretary <br />of State a certificate of approval, as proscribed by the Attorney General, along with a copy of <br />its resolution of approval prior to the first day of the next regular session of the Legislature. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the first day of the next regular session of the Legislature is Tuesday, <br />January 5, 1999. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City as follows: <br /> <br />1. The Special Law is hereby approved. <br /> <br />2. The Clerk-Treasurer is hereby directed to file a certificate of approval and a <br />certified copy ofthe City's resolution of approval with the Secretary of State. <br /> <br />1 <br />
