March 10, 2015 <br />packets. He reminded the Council there would be a joint EDC meeting on Wednesday, March <br />18th at 7:30 a.m. He reported the Town Hall meeting was scheduled for Saturday, May 2 °a <br />Gina Bauman <br />Councilmember Bauman reported the Cable Commission met and discussed CenturyLink's <br />intent to franchise. The group was informed on the services and features CenturyLink planned <br />to offer New Brighton residents. She noted she would be chairing the Strategic Planning <br />Committee for the Cable Commission. <br />Mary Burk <br />Councilmember Burl; reported she attended the Northeast Youth and Family Services <br />Commission meeting last week. This group was planning a Leadership Luncheon on May 6`h <br />She encouraged the Council to attend this event. She reported a Mayor's Golf Outing was <br />being planned for June 6th at the Kellar Golf Course. It was noted the Public Safety <br />Commission would meet again on Monday, March 30th <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported he attended a Community Partners for Youth (CPY) <br />Luncheon this afternoon. He was pleased by the support the community provided to its youth. <br />He looked forward to attending the joint EDC meeting on March 19 "'. <br />Brian Strub <br />Councilmember Strub reported on March 4th PREC met and discussed improved water quality <br />in and around Long Lake. He noted that the watershed district received a $5 million grant and <br />a portion of these funds would be used to dredge the holding pond in Hanson Park. He <br />encouraged homeowners to purchase trees and shrubs through the Ramsey County friends of <br />the park tree sale. He explained that could also purchase trees for the City of New Brighton. <br />He indicated he would be willing to match up to $100 in donations for City trees. <br />Mayor Jacobsen <br />Mayor Jacobsen reported due to health issues he canceled his trip to Washington DC.
