September 3, 2015 Page 3 of 4 <br />None. <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates <br />Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter reported he would be meeting with the Army on September 91h to discuss <br />the annual report. He explained he was appointed to the Metro Area Water Supply Advisory <br />Con3nlittee by Governor Dayton. The Committee would be meeting on September 91h at 8:30 <br />a.m. He would report back to the Council regarding the content of this meeting on September <br />22"d <br />Mary Buri, <br />Councilmember Burg reported Liz Amici Floyd would be replacing Jeanne Balfanz in the <br />Parks and Recreation Department. She commented that the Totem Pole playground has been <br />removed and would be donated to a third world country. It was noted there would be a ribbon <br />cutting ceremony for the neer playgrottnd equipment at Totem Pole Park on Tuesday, <br />September 22"d. She reported the Community Center was closed this week for maintenance <br />and cleaning. She noted the Senior Thrive Expo would be held ori Thursday, September- 17'h <br />She explained PREC would meet next on Wednesday, October 14`h. She encouraged the <br />public to participate in the Taste of Northeast Event, which would be held Thursday, October <br />22"d. <br />Gina Bauman <br />Councilmember Bauman reported she attended the EDC meeting on September 2"d. She <br />indicated the group discussed Blocks B & D with representatives from Ryan Companies and <br />Colliers. The group recommended that Block D be zoned Flex and not just office. In addition, <br />the EDC discussed pursuing a RAP for Block B. She explained the Cable Commission would <br />meet again on October 7`h to review the CenturyLink francWse and 2016 budget. <br />Brian Strub <br />Councilmember Strub thanked the public for participating in the local blood drive on <br />September 3rd. He encouraged New Brighton residents to visit the Old Highway 8 Dairy <br />Queen on September 15th as 10% of all proceeds will be donated to the Parks and Recreation <br />scholarship fund. He explained the next Public Safety Meeting would be held on September <br />281h at 6:30 p.m. He reminded the public to drive safely as children were now back at school. <br />PaniJaenhsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen wished all residents Happy Labor Day. He noted he attended the <br />PREC meeting last week. The group discussed Park and Recreation fees.
