IIw <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 97_074 <br /> <br />~, <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION FORMALLY DECLARING THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON'S <br />COMMITMENT TO HEALTHY YOUTH. <br /> <br />WHEREAS the City of New Brighton considers the development of healthy youth an important <br />community goal, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS the Healthy Youth Coalition was established following the Search Institute's survey work <br />administered by Mounds View School District No. 621 in 1995 and is continuing to pursue a variety of <br />approaches toward educating the public on the importance ofthis topic and in facilitating processes for <br />building assets in our youth, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS the mayors of five cities comprising School District No. 621 hosted a community summit <br />for youth designed to obtain the communities' refocus and commitment toward this community goal, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS the Healthy Youth Coalition has entrusted individuals, businesses, and organizations to <br />commit to this topic and the Asset a Month public educational campaign being initiated. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the City of New Brighton formally indicates its commitment <br />towards the development of healthy youth and for the Asset a Month public education campaign. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of New Brighton authorizes the contribution of $500.00 <br />toward the Healthy Youth Coalition program in the interest of developing healthier youth and healthier <br />communities. <br /> <br />Adopted this 14th <br /> <br />day of <br /> <br />()l't()h~rl QQ7 <br />" <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />~~ <br />Robert 1.
