June 23, 2015 Page 1 of 10 <br />1rVBR1KajiT0N <br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br />the city that works for you THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />Pursuant to notice thereof, a regular meeting of the New Brighton City Council was held Tuesday <br />June 23, 2015 at 6:30 pm in the New Brighton Council Chambers. <br />Present: Mayor Jacobsen, Councilmembers Bauman, Burg, Jacobsen and Strub <br />Absent: <br />Also Present: Dean Lotter -City Manager, Troy Gilchrest-City Attorney, Bob Jacobson -Director of <br />Public Safety, Brenda Davitt-Finance Director <br />Call to Order <br />Mayor Jacobsen called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm. <br />Pledge of Allegiance <br />Mayor Jacobsen led the Council in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Call to order <br />Pleduc of Allegiance <br />Public Comment Forum <br />Public Comment <br />Mayor Jacobsen opened the Public Forum for comments from the public. <br />Forum <br />Bob Foreman, 123 14th Avenue, discussed the serious and long-term impacts the contaminated <br />water supply would have on the City of New Brighton. He feared how the Mt. Sinai -Hinkley <br />aquifer would fare with the City tapping into this resource, as it was to be used as drinking <br />water only. He supported the odd/even watering ban enacted by the City Council but feared it <br />would not be properly enforced. He believed the City needed to take more drastic measures. <br />He supported a ban on all non-essential outdoor water usage. He also wanted to see the City <br />encourage homeowners to address plumbing improvements. He suggested the City provide <br />incentives for these improvements.
