MINUTES <br />New Brighton Economic Development Commission <br />Regular Meeting — October 7, 2015 <br />7:30 a.m. <br />Members/Liaisons Present: Chair Paul Zisla, Commissioners, D.L. Beach, Kevin Peck, Al Potter, <br />Mike Murlowski, Bruce Knight <br />Members/Liaisons Absent: Commissioners Monica Garcia -Perez and Bob Benke, Councilmember <br />Gina Bauman <br />Staff Present: Janice Gundlach- Assistant Director of Community Assets & Development/Planning <br />Director <br />Also Present: None <br />Call to Order <br />Chairperson Zisla called the meeting to order at 7:30 a.m. <br />Approval of Minutes <br />Motion by Commissioner Murlowski, seconded by Commissioner Peck to approve the minutes from the <br />September 2, 2015 meeting. <br />Approved 6-0 <br />Report from Council Liaison <br />Councilmember Gina Bauman was not in attendance. Commissioner Bruce Knight offered comments on <br />the preliminary levy increase approved by Council and how increasing franchise fees have become a <br />part of the Council's budget discussion. <br />Development Updates <br />Chair Zisla and Gundlach discussed a recent Letter to the Editor regarding the EDC. <br />New Brig hton Exchange <br />Gundlach reported that staff was asked by the Chair to provide the EDC with an update on New <br />Brighton Exchange. She revisited the EDC recommendation from September that additional <br />information be brought back to the EDC regarding Block B. Gundlach reported that staff and Ryan <br />Companies would need more time to gather the requested information and anticipated that information <br />would not be completed until December or later. Gundlach went on to discuss a development prospect <br />called Streamworks, who is very interested in locating on Block D. Streamworks needs 85,000 square <br />feet of industrial -flex space. She believed that Streamworks would be a great fit for Block D. It was <br />noted additional environmental and geotechnical investigation is needed on Block D. She reported Ryan <br />Companies would prepare build pricing for Streamworks to consider, which would take approximately <br />one month to complete. <br />Northeast Bank <br />Gundlach reported that Northeast Bank had reached an access agreement with the County. She <br />explained there would be a right -in, right -out on Silver Lake Road and there would be a direct access <br />point into New Brighton Village. She indicated permits have been requested and the existing building <br />should be removed in the next week. <br />
