2014 Legislative <br />Highlights <br />Expanded supporters of <br />Homes forAll to over loo <br />organizations. <br />nth our partners, obtained <br />35 House and Senate co- <br />sponsors of the stand-alone <br />bonding billfor housing. <br />ADVOCACY <br />During the 2014 session, MCCD worked with our members and partners to <br />successfully pass $loo million in bonds for housing, which was a signifi- <br />cant part of the $846 million dollar bonding package. This success was due to <br />many years of coordinated and collaborative effort through the Homes for <br />All campaign. MCCD also was able to bring our members' experience into a <br />number of campaigns outside of Homes for All, and was able to provide feed- <br />back on a number of legislative proposals. <br />Facilitated meetings with key <br />Driver's license issues <br />legislators to generate sup- <br />MCCD staff worked to collect and share information with the coalition sup- <br />portfor housing issues. <br />porting safe drivers' licenses about how businesses have been harmed by exist- <br />ing restrictions. <br />Testified in support of hous- <br />ing bonding legislation. <br />Coalition for Choice in Housing <br />Facilitated news stories and <br />MCCD supported the Coalition for Choice in Housing's efforts to eliminate <br />commentary about Minneso- <br />existing policy that caps the number of individuals with disabilities residing in <br />ta's affordable housing needs. <br />a building to no more than 25% of the units.
