Open to Business will be administering Norwood Young America's revolving loan <br />program under an agreement between OTB's lending arm, the Metropolitan Consortium <br />of Community Developers, and the city's Economic Development Authority. The <br />program provides affordable gap financing for local businesses and is designed to <br />leverage private capital provided by area banks. More details are provided here. <br />The Lakeville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Lakeville School District have <br />established Minnesota's first Young Entrepreneurs Academy. The Academy will <br />helpLakeville students in grades 6-8 launch a business or a social movement during the <br />school year. Click here for more information. <br />,Second Quarter Results <br />Second Quarter 2014 numbers provide a quick snapshot of our on-going efforts to <br />provide counseling and access to capital for aspiring entrepreneurs who are moving on <br />to the next stage in the development of their business ventures. <br />During the second quarter, our OTB staff provided 1200 hours of technical <br />assistance to 245 business clients. We loaned just under $300,000 to 14 small <br />businesses.
