COf <br />'na EW <br />BRIGHTON <br />the city that works for you <br />2N <br />AGENDA SECTION: Special Business <br />REPORT DATE: Aril 22, 2015 <br />MEETING DATE: April 28, 2015 <br />REQUEST FOR CITY COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION: Recognition for Dave Olson, Superintendent of Public Works <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD'S APPROVAL: Craig Schlichting, Director of Community Assets and <br />Development <br />CITY MANAGER APPROVAL: <br />No comments to supplement this report Comments attached <br />Recommendation: <br />Ask that Mayor Jacobsen on behalf of the City Council present Dave Olson, Superintendent of Public <br />Works, with a Plaque of Appreciation for his retirement after 36 years of service to the City of New <br />Brighton. <br />Legislative History: <br />None <br />Explanation: Dave Olson began his career with the City of New Brighton on March 1, 1979. <br />During the course of his 36 years of service, Dave has served Public Works as an Engineering <br />Technician, Maintenance worker, Water Supervisor, and Public Works Superintendent. <br />Per the City Employee policy/handbook, section 33.2, staff members who resign and/or retire with more <br />than 20 years of service will receive a plaque or other award to recognize their service. <br />Craig Schlichting <br />Director of Community Assets and Development <br />
