Jacobson, Director of Public Safety <br />CITY MANAGER APPROVAL: <br />No comments to supplement this report Comments attached <br />Explanation: <br />Suburban Ramsey County Law Enforcement Agencies have formally recognized and participated <br />in National Police Week in recognition of the sacrifice of law enforcement officers for several <br />years. This year, a ceremony will be held on May 11th in the City of Arden Hills at North <br />Heights Lutheran Church. Police Officers from the New Brighton Dept. of Public Safety will <br />participate in this event. <br />Recommendation: <br />Read and adopt the resolution proclaiming May 10th through May 16th as National Police Week in <br />the City of New Brighton. <br />Legislative History: <br />The City has previously proclaimed this week as National Police Week previously. President <br />John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation in 1962 designating May 15th at Peace Officers Memorial <br />Day and the week in which it falls as Police Week. <br />Financial Impact: <br />None <br />Robert J.
