January 12, 2016 <br />Councilmember Burg reported she attended the recent PREC meeting and noted the PREC <br />Chair would be providing an update at a future Council meeting. She explained PREC would <br />be meeting next on Wednesday, February 3`d at 6:30 p.m. <br />Gina Bauman <br />Councilmember Bauman reported the EDC did not meet in January. It was noted the EDC <br />would meet next on Wednesday, February 3`d at 7:30 a.m. She provided a brief overview from <br />a recent Cable Commission meeting noting the group would be holding a meeting on Saturday, <br />January 30th to discuss the future of CTV. She was pleased to report that each of the nine <br />member cities supported the CenturyLink franchise. <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported the City was in need of additional VIPS. He noted several <br />of the City's commissions were also in need of members. Those interested in volunteering <br />should contact City Hall or visit the City's website for additional information. He indicated the <br />Planning Commission would not be meeting in January. The group would be meeting again on <br />Tuesday, February 161H <br />Brian Strub <br />Councilmember Strub reported the Public Safety Commission would meet next on Monday, <br />January 25th at 6:30 p.m. He thanked the residents who participated in the recent blood drive. <br />He congratulated Matt Farmer and Charlie Prasek who were both promoted to the position of <br />Fire Captain within the Public Safety Department. He encouraged the public to participate in <br />the MLK Day Breakfast at the United Theological Seminary on Monday, January 18'1'. He <br />stated the local fishing contest has been moved to the Eagle's Club on January 31" from 1:00- <br />3:00 p.m. He invited the public to get involved in the Snowshoe Shuffle at Long Lake <br />Regional Park, which will be held on Saturday, February 61h <br />Mayor Johnson <br />Mayor Johnson had nothing to report. <br />Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter reported there would be a newly and experienced elected official's <br />conference on January 22-23. He understood the Mayor would be attending this conference. <br />He explained the Mayor would be meeting with the water team on Thursday to become <br />apprised of this situation.
