Article 2. Council <br />Sec. 2-16. Date of Regular Election. <br />Commencing with the 1975 City election, the regular election for City officials shall be held annually on <br />the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of each odd -numbered year. This provision is <br />made pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Section 205.07. (Code 1966; Ord. No. 336, 8-27-74; Code of <br />2001) <br />Sec. 2-17. Effect of Change. <br />Whenever the change in the election year results in the expiration of any current term of office at a time <br />when no City election is held in the months immediately prior thereto, each term is extended until the <br />date for taking office following the next scheduled City election. (Code 1966; Ord. No. 336, 8-27-74; <br />Code of 2001) <br />Sec. 2-18. Compensation for the Council. <br />Effective January 1, 1996, the annual compensation for the Mayor shall be $8600 and the annual <br />compensation for each of the Council members shall be $7000.
