RESOLUTION NO. STATE OF MINNESOTA COUNTY OF RAMSEY CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON RESOLUTION proclaiming Tuesday, August 4th, 2015 as National Night Out in the City of New Brighton. WHEREAS, the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) and TARGET are sponsoring a unique, nationwide crime, drug and violence prevention program on August 4th, 2015 entitled "National Night Out"; and WHEREAS, the "30th Annual National Night Out" provides a unique opportunity for the City of New Brighton to join forces with thousands of other communities across the country in promoting cooperative, police -community crime prevention efforts; and WHEREAS, the City of New Brighton plays a vital role in assisting the New Brighton Department of Public Safety through joint crime, drug and violence prevention efforts in New Brighton and is supporting "National Night Out 2015" locally; and WHEREAS, it is essential that all citizens of the City of New Brighton be aware of the importance of crime prevention programs and impact that their participation can have on reducing crime, drugs and violence in New Brighton; and WHEREAS, police -community partnerships, neighborhood safety, awareness and cooperation are important themes of the "National Night Out" program; NOW, THEREFORE WE, the City Council, do hereby call upon all citizens of the City of New Brighton to join the New Brighton Department of Public Safety and the National Association of Town Watch and TARGET in supporting the Annual National Night Out celebrations on August 4th, 2015. FURTHER, LET IT BE RESOLVED THAT, WE, the City Council, do hereby proclaim Tuesday, August 4th, 2015, as National Night Out in the City of New Brighton as well as authorize appropriate signage be displayed throughout the community for the promotion of this civic event.
