Lotter, City Manager <br />CITY MANAGER'S APPROVAL: <br />No comments to supplement this report Comments attached <br />Recommendation: <br />City Council approve the resolution adopting the proposed 2016-2017 Master Labor Agreement <br />between the Teamster Public and Law Enforcement Employees Union, Local No. 320 <br />(Maintenance Workers) and the City of New Brighton. <br />Legislative History: <br />City staff and Teamsters Local No. 320 representatives have been in contract negotiations. The <br />current Master Labor Agreement is scheduled to expire on December 31, 2015. On October 14, <br />2015 the City and Local 320 were able to reach a tentative collective bargaining agreement. The <br />following is an overview of the City's proposed agreement with Local No. 320. <br />Financial Impact: <br />The effective date of the proposed contract is January 1, 2016. The proposed contract includes <br />the following changes: <br />➢ 2% COLA adjustments and steps for Teamsters Local #320 in 2016 <br />➢ 2.5% COLA adjustments and steps for Teamsters Local #320 in 2017 <br />Contract Duration <br />This is a two-year contract that will expire on December 31, 2017. <br />Wages and Insurance <br />The contract provides for a 2% cost of living adjustment (COLA) in the 2016 and a 2.5% <br />increase for the 2017 calendar year. <br />The health insurance contribution in 2016 will change and is the same for all union and non- <br />union employees. In 2016, the employer will contribute $735.00 per month for single health <br />insurance, $995.00 per month for single+l health insurance and $1,125.00 per month for family <br />health insurance coverage. Those employees that opt -out of the City's health insurance coverage <br />will receive $365.00 per month that may be applied to other benefits offered in the cafeteria plan <br />or received as additional compensation.
