receive the best rebates and incentives, it may be best to partner with a private <br />owner to install the solar system and City then leases the system from the private <br />owner. The project details have not been fully defined at this point, but research <br />could continue if Council would like more information before making a decision <br />on solar. Given the fact that the NBCC has relatively new $500,000 roof and <br />other program limitations, staff and the Trane representatives are not <br />recommending solar at this time. <br /> <br />The project would be funded by the Non-Fleet Capital Replacement Program. <br />The new RTUs would be included in the in future Non-Fleet budgets with an <br />anticipated life expectancy of 20 years. Finance staff has reviewed this purchase <br />and acknowledges there is funding available for this project in the City’s Non- <br />Fleet Budget. While this project will cost more than originally intended, the Non- <br />Fleet Budget remains solvent because of savings from previous years purchases <br />and future revenue sources.
