The Council was in agreement with this course of action.
Mayor Johnson indicated the Lions were interested in providing the City with $100,000 towards North Park
over four years. She was hoping to receive $5,000 after that time each year to assist with maintenance.
However, the Lions would like naming rights to the park if they provide the City with funding.
Councilmember Bauman was in favor of the City maintaining its existing parks. She stated she would support
the parking being named after the Lions if funding was offered to the City.
Councilmember Burg agreed stating the additional funding would be outstanding for the City.
Councilmember Strub supported the Lions naming the park due to the fact this was a local group that was
committed to the community.
Jacobson recommended this item return back to the City Council at a future meeting after a discussion and
formal recommendation can be made by the Lions.
Worksession adjourned at 6:25 pm
Respectfully submitted,
Terri Haarstad
City Clerk
