motion to censure Councilmember Bauman for her actions related to the City Attorney. This motion would <br />include removing Councilmember Bauman from acting as a Council Liaison. She explained the City now had <br />a new City Attorney because of Councilmember Bauman's actions. <br />Councilmember Bauman did not understand why the Mayor was taking this action. <br />Mayor Johnson discussed the advice Councilmember Bauman sought from the Cable Commission members. <br />She reported Councilmember Bauman did not bring the rest of the Council up to speed regarding the advice or <br />counsel she received. She indicated Councilmember Bauman was acting only for her benefit and not for the <br />benefit of the City. <br />Councilmember Bauman commented the Council acted to negate an election. She stated the people spoke at <br />the election and a week later, the Council went against the results. She believed the actions of the Council <br />were wrong. She indicated she was working to protect the votes of the people. <br />Mayor Johnson stated she would not allow a Councilmember to speak to the City Attorney for her own benefit. <br />Councilmember Bauman advised the petition she was forming was for the benefit of the people and not for <br />personal gain. She stated this action has been done in the past. She believed Mayor Johnson was acting like a <br />dictator. <br />Mayor Johnson stated this would not be done on her watch. She indicated Councilmember Bauman was out of <br />order. She explained she would not allow Councilmembers to take action for their own benefit. <br />Councilmember Bauman believed the Commissioner Bob Benke should be removed and Chair Mary Konish- <br />Podein should be removed. She expressed concern with the comments being made on Neighborly New <br />Brighton. She discussed how the Council approved a budget without meals and noted meals were now being <br />provided to the Council. Lotter discussed how staff had funded this cut through a revenue source that was <br />restored to the City. He explained staff could stop providing meals if this was the direction of the Council. <br />Mayor Johnson reported City Manager Lotter has the authority to spend up to $20,000 without needing <br />Council approval; therefore, this was a non -issue. <br />Councilmember Strub was uncertain how he felt about removing Councilmember Bauman from her liaison <br />positions.
