Consideration coo <br />gniAng <br />of ISD 621 on the occasion of his retirement. <br />theservice ofDan <br />Hoverman, Superintendent <br />Motion b Councilmember Strub seconded b Councilmember Jacobsen to accept a <br />y y p <br />oflSD621 on the occasion <br />ofhis retirement <br />Proclamation Recognizing the service of Dan Hoverman, Superintendent of ISD 621 on the occasion <br />of his retirement. <br />Mayor Johnson read a Proclamation in full recognizing Dan Hovennan for his dedicated service to ISD 621 <br />and wished him well in his retirement <br />A round of applause was offered by all in attendance. <br />Councilmember Strub thanked Superintendent Hoverman for the impressive leadership and great work he <br />has completed on behalf of the community. He explained he served for seven years on the Mounds View <br />Education Foundation at the recommendation of Superintendent Hovelman. He appreciated the mentorship <br />and knowledge gained through this experience. He understood the school district had stable leadership in <br />place on the School Board and wished Superintendent Hoverman well in his retirement <br />Councilmember Jacobsen discussed the legacy that Superintendent Hoverman would leave through the early <br />college program and the fact that the school district was one of the top 10 schools in the State. He was sad to <br />see Superintendent Hoverman retiring, but he was grateful to have had the chance to work with him. He <br />wished him only the best in his retirement. <br />Councilmember Burg offered a heartfelt thanks to Superintendent Hoverman. She discussed the impressive <br />work completed by Superintendent Hoverman during his tenure and wished him all the best. <br />Mayor Johnson considered Superintendent Hoverman to be a hero. She explained her two children <br />graduated from the Mounds View School District and noted she was a graduate of Irondale High School. <br />She wished Superintendent Hoverman and his wife a happy retirement. <br />Superintendent Hoverman thanked the Council for their comments. He discussed how successful public <br />schools were a function of a terrific school board, dedicated staff and a supportive community. He believed it <br />was truly a team. He appreciated the continued support from the City of New Brighton and accepted the <br />proclamation on behalf of all of those that serve within the school district. <br />Councilmember Strub discussed the creation of the Hoverman Family Scholarship. <br />4 Ayes, 0 Nays - Motion Carried <br />Consent Agenda <br />Consent Auenda <br />1.
