HVAC 101 <br />HVAC – Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) is the technology of indoor <br />and vehicular environmental comfort. Its goal is to provide thermal comfort and <br />acceptable indoor air quality. At NBCC, this includes RTUs, boilers, VAV boxes, air <br />compressor and baseboard heating. <br /> <br />RTU - A Roof Top Unit (RTU), or Air Handling Unit, is a central unit consisting of a <br />blower, heating and cooling elements, filter racks or chamber, dampers, humidifier, <br />and other central equipment in direct contact with the airflow. This does not include <br />the ductwork, boilers or controls through the building.
