milk <br />WBRUM PROCLAMATION <br />RECOGNIZING AND THANKING DAN HOVERMAN, SUPERINTENDENT OF <br />SCHOOLS FOR INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT 621 FOR HIS SERVICE <br />WHEREAS Dan Hoverman has been Superintendent of Mounds View Schools since 2007 <br />and he has championed a variety of efforts to enhance the personalization of <br />public school education, directly benefiting New Brighton students and Families; <br />and <br />WHEREAS under his leadership and innovative efforts, Mounds View Schools <br />consistently ranks among the Top 10 highest -performing school districts in the <br />state; and <br />WHEREAS during his time with Mounds View Schools, he launched a comprehensive effort <br />aimed at the post -secondary success for all students regardless of race, class or <br />disability including a fast -of -its kind, award-winning Early College program <br />that allows students in the academic middle the opportunity to earn an associate <br />degree on their high school campus for free; and <br />WHEREAS Hoverman has provided every middle school and high school student with an <br />online Personalized Learning Plan and has spearheaded a program that enables <br />all high school juniors in the school district to be able to take their ACT exam <br />free of charge at their high school campus; and <br />WHEREAS Hoverman's fiscal management of the school District's $160 million budget <br />prioritizes keeping class sizes as low as possible and maintaining comprehensive <br />academic and co -curricular programs for students; and <br />WHEREAS these efforts have been monumental in assisting the City meet its vision of being <br />the preferred place to live, work and play by attracting new residents to our <br />community; <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT PROCLAIMED, that I, Valerie Johnson, Mayor of the City of New <br />Brighton, Minnesota do hereby recognize and thank Superintendent Hoverman for his hard work <br />and dedication to New Brighton's students and families, for his commitment to a positive working <br />relationship between the City and the school district and for his valuable service to our entire <br />community.
