She discussed an event that <br />would occur on Tuesday, July 12th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the New Brighton Library. <br />She noted the New Brighton Community Center would be closed on Monday, July 4th. She <br />reported the Parks and Recreation Committee would meet again in September. <br /> <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen thanked Public Safety Director Jacobson for this dedicated service to <br />the City of New Brighton over the past 33 years. He appreciated the efforts of Tony Patznek <br />for stepping in and serving as the Acting Public Safety Director for the City. He reviewed the <br />items the Planning Commission discussed last Tuesday. He noted the City Water Report was <br />now available for review. He congratulated the Irondale Robotics team for another great <br />season. He noted the City was still seeking election judges for both the primary and general <br />elections. He wished everyone a Happy 4th of July. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson <br />Mayor Johnson wished Public Safety Director Jacobson a happy retirement. She then <br />introduced Acting Public Works Director Tony Patznek to the public. She stated Rotary now <br />had a new meeting space and would begin meeting at The Exchange every Tuesday at 12:15 <br />p.m. She encouraged all residents to become a member of the New Brighton Historical <br />Society. She looked forward to attending the City’s farmer’s market on Wednesday, July 6th. <br />She discussed an upcoming Council event that would take place at Vermont Park on Thursday, <br />July 21st at 6:30 p.m. She invited the residents adjacent to this park to attend this event. She <br />thanked the City for making great decisions regarding the City’s water supply. She looked <br />forward to the interconnection with the City of Minneapolis being completed. She wished <br />Officer Kathy McNeely well in her retirement and thanked her for her 25 years of service to <br />the community.
