Consideration of a Proclamation Recognizing Fire Captain Jerome Hedman for 30 Years of <br />Service to the City of New Brighton. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Jacobsen, seconded by Councilmember Burg to consider a <br />Proclamation Recognizing Fire Captain Jerome Hedman for 30 Years of Service to the City of New <br />Brighton. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson read a proclamation in full for the record recognizing Fire Captain Jerome Hedman for his 30 <br />years of dedicated service to the City of New Brighton. She wished him a very long and healthy retirement. <br />A standing ovation and round of applause was offered by all in attendance. <br />Councilmember Burg noted that Fire Captain Hedman was a lifelong resident of New Brighton. She <br />commended him on his fine career and service to the community. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen wished Fire Captain Hedman well in his retirement and thanked him for his 30 <br />years of service to the City. <br />Councilmember Strub appreciated Fire Captain Hedman’s commitment and dedication to the Public Safety <br />Department. <br /> <br />4 Ayes, 0 Nays - Motion Carried <br /> <br />2. Consideration of a Proclamation Recognizing Public Safety Director Bob Jacobson for <br />Nearly 33 Years of Service to the City of New Brighton. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Jacobsen, seconded by Councilmember Burg to consider a <br />Proclamation Recognizing Public Safety Director Bob Jacobson for Nearly 33 Years of Service to the <br />City of New Brighton. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson read a proclamation in full for the record recognizing Public Safety Director Bob Jacobsen <br />for his almost 33 years of dedicated service to the City of New Brighton. She wished him a very long and <br />healthy retirement. A standing ovation and round of applause was offered by all in attendance. <br />Public Safety Director Jacobson stated it has been his honor to serve this City and be retiring at the same time <br />as Fire Captain Hedman. He thanked the citizens of New Brighton for making this community so great. He <br />explained that this was a very tough time for law enforcement and he appreciated the communities continued <br />show of support. He thanked the Council for their continued support and stated it has been his honor and <br />privilege. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen commended Public Safety Director Jacobson for having an impactful and <br />legendary career. He believed Public Safety Director Jacobson would leave a legacy with the City of New <br />Brighton as being a strong leader. He was happy to have crossed paths with Public Safety Director Jacobson <br />and thanked him for his years of service to the community. <br />Councilmember Strub stated it has been an honor to get to know Public Safety Director Jacobson. He <br />thanked him for creating a legacy within the Police Department and wished him well in his retirement. It was <br />his hope that the City Council would continue to honor Public Safety Director Jacobson’s legacy by properly <br />funding, training and equipping its officers. <br />Councilmember Burg was so proud of the New Brighton Public Safety Department, in particular the great <br />work they do for those with mental health issues. She commended the department for working to achieve the <br />21st Century Gold standard and thanked Public Safety Director Jacobson for everything he has done for this <br />community. <br />Mayor Johnson offered her sincere thanks to Public Safety Director Jacobson as well. <br />City Manager Lotter believed Public Safety Director Jacobson to be one of the finest individuals he has had <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Special Order of <br />Business <br />1.
