September 27, 2016 Page 7 of 7 <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays-Motion Carried <br /> <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates <br /> <br />Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter reported the DX response team met with the Army last week at the water <br />treatment facility. The DCS construction was reviewed and a permanent solution was <br />discussed. Staff was pleased with the how the tour and discussion went. He explained the <br />New Brighton Exchange redevelopment site has been submitted for an award. <br /> <br />Gina Bauman <br />Councilmember Bauman reported she has not been reinstated as a Council Liaison and <br />therefore had no report. She commented on the Closed Session meeting the City Council held <br />prior to the Council meeting to discuss the pending litigation. She encouraged the Council to <br />stop spending tax payer dollars on this matter. <br /> <br />Brian Strub <br />Councilmember Strub reported the Public Safety Committee met on Monday, September 26th <br />where the group toured the Allina facility in Mounds View. He noted the community has had <br />861 code three ambulance calls in 2016. He noted October was Fire Prevention Month. He <br />reminded the public to replace their smoke detector batteries. <br /> <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg reported the North Suburban Cable Commission will met next on <br />October 13th. She encouraged the public to attend the Taste of Northeast event being put on by <br />Northeast Youth and Family Services on Thursday, October 6th at Vadnais Heights Commons. <br />She stated tickets were $30 in advance or $40 at the door. She stated PREC would meet again <br />on Wednesday, October 5th at 6:30 p.m. The hours for the Community Center and <br />Brightonwood Golf Course were discussed. She noted a boutique would be held at the New <br />Brighton Community Center from Wednesday, October 12th through Sunday, October 23rd. <br /> <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported the Planning Commission met on Tuesday, September 20th. <br />He explained CPY would be holding their Fall Gala on Friday, November 11th at the New <br />Brighton Community Center. He noted the last farmer’s market would be held on Wednesday, <br />October 5th. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson <br />Mayor Johnson reported the Lions were having a wine tasting fundraiser at Adagio’s on <br />Wednesday, September 28th at 6:00 p.m. She commented on Councilmember Bauman’s <br />statements. She explained the Closed Session meeting was posted last Friday.
