<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Council Worksession <br />October 4, 2016 <br />5:00 pm <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Valerie Johnson <br /> Councilmember Brian Strub <br /> Councilmember Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Mary Burg <br />Absent: Councilmember Gina Bauman <br /> <br />Staff in Attendance: Dean Lotter <br /> <br />Guests in Attendance: Michelle Wheeler <br /> <br />Webpage Presentation to Council <br /> <br />Lotter stated Michelle Wheeler was present to review the City’s new webpage with the Council. He was <br />pleased to report that the new page was ready to go live. However, he anticipated several more adjustments <br />would be made prior to the site being launched. <br /> <br />Michelle Wheeler discussed the City’s new webpage with the Council noting it was very responsive and easy <br />to find. She pulled up the site and reviewed the pages in further detail. She then commented on how the <br />website was organized. She described how content could be amended on the site by City staff. <br /> <br />Councilmember Jacobsen asked if the language options were typically at the bottom of the home page. Ms. <br />Wheeler found it was common to have it at the bottom or top of the home page. She explained this option <br />could be changed if the City were to receive complaints. <br /> <br />Councilmember Jacobsen and Mayor Johnson believed the new site was vastly improved. <br /> <br />Lotter commented on the content that would and would not be allowed on the City’s webpage. He <br />recommended the Council draft a policy that would solidify how the Council would be addressing this issue. <br /> <br />Councilmember Strub was interested to learn if staff was receiving more emails from the public once the City <br />staff directory was posted on the website. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson believed it was a good thing to invite the public to have contact with the Public Safety <br />Department. She was interested in adding photos of the Public Safety officers to the website. <br /> <br />Councilmember Burg questioned where Ms. Wheeler received all of the photos for the website. Ms. Wheeler <br />discussed how she had gathered all of the pictures for the website. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson was very excited to roll out the new website. She believed the look and feel of the new site <br />was fantastic. She appreciated the teamwork that it took to bring this project to completion. <br /> <br />Councilmember Jacobsen agreed.
