October 25, 2016 Page 6 of 6 <br />Racial Justice on Monday, November 14th at 7:00 p.m. at Christ the King Church. He <br />reminded citizens to drive safely on October 31st and to watch out for trick or treaters. <br /> <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg reported the New Brighton PREC did not meet in October. She stated <br />PREC’s next meeting would be Wednesday, November 2nd. She invited the public to take <br />advantage of the great golf rates at Brightwood Golf Course. She updated the Council on the <br />events occurring at the North Suburban Cable Commission. She encouraged all residents to <br />participate in early voting or the General Election on Tuesday, November 8th. <br /> <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported the Planning Commission met on Tuesday, October 18th <br />and had a great discussion with Next Door Housing. He stated Fire Fighter Brian Olson retired <br />last Friday and thanked him for his 21 years of service to the community. He explained CPY <br />would be hosting a fundraiser on Friday, November 11th. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson <br />Mayor Johnson reported the EDC met on Wednesday, October 5th and discussed the APi <br />option. She stated this was an exciting election season and encouraged all residents of New <br />Brighton to get out and vote. She noted she attended the Public Safety Open House last night. <br />She discussed a Chamber of Commerce function she attended. She thanked staff for all of <br />their work on the City’s new website. She stated she was working to find funding to treat <br />Long Lake for milfoil.
