I:\Council - NEW FOLDER\2016\Report Drafts ie Working Docs\Parks and Recreation\Health & Fitness Expo Signs 11.9.16\Approve the use of temporary signage to promote Annual Health & <br />Fitness Expo.doc <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br /> <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION: Consider authorization of temporary signage to promote Annual Health <br />& Fitness Expo <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD’S APPROVAL: Sandy Breuer, Director of Parks & Recreation <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER’S APPROVAL: <br /> <br />No comments to supplement this report___ Comments attached___ <br /> <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />Consider authorization of temporary signage to promote the 12th Annual Health & Fitness Expo <br />at the New Brighton Community Center. <br /> <br />Legislative History: <br />At the November 24, 2015 Council meeting, Council approved the use of temporary signage for the <br />2016 Health and Fitness Expo. <br />At the November 12, 2014 Council meeting, Council approved the use of temporary signage for the <br />2015 Health and Fitness Expo. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br />None <br /> <br />Explanation: <br />A health and fitness event will take place at the New Brighton Community Center on Saturday, <br />January 7, 2017 from 9:30 am-1:30 pm to provide the community access to local health and <br />fitness opportunities. The event will include a sampling of group fitness classes, wellness <br />vendors, membership drive, personal training discounts and prize giveaways. The event is being <br />marketed through the use of news releases, direct mail, cable television, social media, and the <br />city website and city publications. <br /> <br />From Wednesday, December 21-Monday, January 8, the temporary signage will be placed along <br />main traffic areas to further promote the Health & Fitness Expo event.
