Director of Community Assets & Development/Planning Director <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Comprehensive Plan Kick-Off with Hoisington Koegler Group Inc. (HKgi) <br /> <br />The Council discussed the upcoming Comprehensive Plan update process at the October 11th work <br />session, where staff provided three proposals for Comprehensive Plan update services. The Council <br />informally directed staff to enter into a contract with HKgi. Then, at the October 25th Council meeting, <br />the Council authorized the Mayor and City Manager to enter into a professional services agreement with <br />HKgi. <br /> <br />At the Council’s request, HKgi has been invited to meet with the Council. The intent with the work <br />session discussion is for introductions, overview of the work program, and to discuss a community <br />engagement strategy and approach. HKgi’s proposal is attached. The Work Plan starts on page 15. HKgi <br />staff is meeting with City staff the afternoon prior to the work session to discuss options concerning the <br />community engagement strategy and approach (as well as other plan update topics). Following the staff <br />meeting, HKgi will develop a community engagement strategy for discussion at the work session. It is <br />intended for Council to provide input to HKgi on the community engagement strategy and approach <br />during the work session.
