2 <br />I. INCIDENT RESPONSE INFORMATION <br /> <br />The following information contains summaries of significant police and fire related <br />incidents during the month. <br /> <br />On August 1st at approximately 8:55pm Sergeant Emerson, Officer B.J. DeBoer, and <br />Officer Riedel responded to Long Lake Park for a report of a male that had assaulted a <br />female and fled on foot. Upon arrival officers spoke with the victim, and determined the <br />suspect, Gaylord Leroy Rennaker (02/22/75), punched his fiancé, in the face during <br />argument. Officers searched the area and were able to locate the suspect in the park and <br />he was taken in to custody. Due to several prior Felony violations of No Contact Orders <br />and Felony Domestic Assaults, Rennaker was booked at the Ramsey County Law <br />Enforcement Center for Felony domestic assault. 16010069 <br /> <br />On Friday, August 12th at 10:17am the police and fire division were dispatched to <br />Driftwood Park for a report of a suspicious object that appeared to be a grenade on the <br />trail near the east parking lot. Upon arrival staff observed the item and deployed the <br />hazmat robot to attempt to identify the item. After staff was unable to conclusively <br />identify what the item was the Saint Paul bomb squad was contacted. They arrived on <br />scene, were unable to identify the item, and recovered it for destruction. Staff is still <br />unsure what the item was. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />On August 26th at approximately 10:16pm officers were dispatched to Cowboy Jacks at <br />2397 Palmer Drive for a report of a weapons complaint. Upon arrival officers determined <br />two males attempted to leave the building with a beer and were stopped by security staff. <br />The two males became disorderly and one of the males, Roy David John Grotberg 10-3- <br />92, pulled a knife and threatened the security officer. Staff took the knife away from the <br />suspect and detained him for the arrival of officers. The suspect was taken in to custody <br />and booked for Felony 2nd Degree Assault, the second male was trespassed from the <br />location. 16011151 <br />
