16 <br />During the month of August staff attended the following training: <br /> <br />• Internal Affairs Refresher and Update-Sergeant Mitch Singer <br />• Basic School Resource Officer Course- Officer Brian DeDominces <br /> <br />X. OTHER ADMINISTRATIVE <br /> <br /> This section will review the ongoing administrative issues and meetings during the <br />month. This includes meetings, policy issues, ordinance changes, and personnel issues. <br />And, this also includes meetings of a county wide, regional, and/or statewide basis on <br />public safety related issues. <br /> <br />On August 10th Public Safety held an all command staff meeting led by Acting Director <br />Paetznick which included all fire Captains, Chiefs, and police Sergeants. The meeting <br />included a review of the budget process and an announcement of a reorganization to <br />better reflect the evolution of the Public Safety Department in the previous 15 years. The <br />re-organization, which is attached at the end of the report, is designed to improve <br />supervision and increase the ability of the agency to meet the changing needs of the <br />community in the future. <br /> <br />XI. RECOGNITION, NEWS AND INFORMATION <br /> <br /> This section will include “good news” information about our public safety personnel. <br />This will include formal and informal recognition of the department and/or its personnel <br />on or off duty. <br /> <br />Detective Matt DeBoer recently received a letter of appreciation from the Blaine Police <br />Department for his role in identifying and apprehending a suspect in multiple 1st Degree <br />Burglaries which occurred throughout the metro. <br /> <br />
