BIAS CRIME REPORTS <br /> This section will contain any information regarding bias and/or hate crimes in the City of New Brighton. <br /> <br />There were no bias crime reports this month. <br /> <br />VII. VOLUNTEER SERVICES <br /> <br /> This section contains information on our various volunteer organizations related to <br />Public Safety. This includes the activities of the Public Safety Commission, Police <br />Reserves, Police Explorers, and Volunteers in Public Safety (VIPS). <br />On October 21st, Officer Hyland and Officer Slack attended the 3 day MN Law <br />Enforcement Explorer Conference in Cloquet with members from the New Brighton <br />Explorer post. <br /> On October 31st the VIPS divided up in to several teams and handed out approximately <br />1,500 glow sticks to kids and families out trick or treating. This is the fourth year the <br />VIPS have done this which increases the public safety visibility on Halloween to prevent <br />issues from arising as well as making pedestrians safer. <br /> <br />VIII. HOMELAND SECURITY AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT <br /> <br /> This section will review ongoing activities for homeland security and emergency <br />management. This includes the activities of the New Brighton Community Emergency <br />Response Teams (CERT).
