Council will be discussing charitable gambling at an upcoming work session to discuss if a local
preferred/preference list should be created for charitable gambling operating in New Brighton and
then if a percentage of their revenue would need to be spent in New Brighton. Council Member
Strub stated this was first discussed at the October 11th work session which is available online for the
commissioners to watch. Council Member Strub would like to have input on this topic. Is this the
right way to go? Please forward your input to Council Member Strub.

Old Business

Commissioner Lamp stated the discussions regarding the Commission role in the Public Safety
Director selection process and the discussion regarding lock boxes for citizens can be deferred to a
future meeting.

New Business

Commissioner Boyd wanted to give commendation to Acting Director Paetznick and the Fire
Department on the kitchen fire safety demos. An excellent job was done by Firefighter Jeremy
Berger, Firefighter Jason Burton, and Firefighter Dave Cameron; they handled the people superbly.

Adjourn

Commissioner Hollimon made a motion to adjourn the October Public Safety Commission meeting;
seconded by Commissioner Anderson. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:30 pm.

Respectfully Submitted,

_______________________
Julie Forbord
Office Supervisor
