Present: Mayor Johnson, Councilmembers Bauman, Burg, Jacobsen and Strub Absent: Also Present: Joe Hatch -Acting City Manager, Sarah Sonsalla-City Attorney, Bob Jacobson - Director of Public Safety, Janice Gundlach-Assistant Director of Community Assets & Development/Planning Director Call to Order Call to order Mayor Johnson called the meeting to order at 6:33 pm. Pledge of Allegiance Mayor Johnson led the Council in the Pledge of Allegiance. Public Comment Forum Mayor Johnson opened the Public Forum for comments from the public. Nicki G_iere, 2650 15t1i Street NW, discussed the charitable gambling that was conducted by the Lake Region Hockey Association. She explained her goal was to raise funds for youth sports and those in need. She requested the City not allow other organizations fi-om outside the City to have charitable gambling at New Brighton restaurants (Cowboy Jacks). She indicated this was a matter of urgency for the Lake Region Hockey Association. Mayor Johnson explained staff was exploring this item and this matter was under advisement by the City Council. Approval of Agenda Approval of the June 28, 2016 Council Agenda. Motion by Councilmember Burg, seconded by Councilmember Jacobsen to approve the agenda as submitted. 5 Ayes, 0 Nays -Motion Carried Council Minutes Approval ofthe Council minutes firm June 14, 2016.
