She believed she brought the ability to listen in order to find commonality, <br />while understanding differing opinions needed to be heard. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen stated based on how long Ms. Axberg has lived in New Brighton, she questioned <br />what the biggest challenges were for the City. <br />Mayor Johnson asked which of the following strikes Ms. Axberg as the most interesting: land use and <br />variance, economic programs, business retention and redevelopment, impacts of recreation in the community, <br />or the impacts of public safety services. <br />Ms. Axberg stated she was most interested in the impacts of recreation in the community. She explained she <br />would have to make the commission meetings work with her personal calendar. She reported she traveled <br />extensively for work but noted the dates were flexible. <br />Mayor Johnson asked if Ms. Axberg had any questions for the Council. <br />Ms. Axberg stated she asked Councilmember Strub and City Clerk Haarstad many questions in advance. <br />Mayor Johnson encouraged Ms. Axberg to contact the City with any further questions she may have and <br />thanked her for coming forward and being willing to serve the City. <br />Worksession adjourned at 6:29 pm <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />- r f <br />Terri Haarstad <br />City Clerk <br />
