February 28, 2017 Page 4 of 5 <br />Motion by Councihnember Burg, seconded by Councilmember Jacobsen to approve the Council <br />Norms of Behavior. <br />Mayor Johnson read the Council Norms of Behavior in full for the record. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays - Motion Carried <br />Commission Liaison Repo tsAnnouncements and Update <br />Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter reported staff was interviewing for an IT Technician. He indicated the <br />City requested bids for the advanced oxidation water treatment equipment and these bids <br />would be evaluated by staff next week. He was pleased to report this project was on schedule. <br />He noted the new Assistant City Manager Devin Massopust would be joining the City on <br />Monday, March 6th. <br />Gina Bauman <br />Councilmember Bauman reported she recently attended a strategic planning meeting for the <br />Cable Commission. Those in attendance at this meeting discussed the importance of CTV and <br />its value to the community. <br />Brian Strub <br />Councilmember Strub reported he recently filled in as the Planning Commission liaison and <br />noted he shared the Council Norms of Behavior with this group, along with the Public Safety <br />Commission. He discussed the importance of the City Council being held to these standards. <br />He provided further comment on the discussion held by the Planning Commission regarding <br />temporary health care dwellings. He explained the Public Safety Commission discussed <br />updating the cameras within squad cars, along with body -worn cameras. He thanked all of the <br />residents that attended the recent neighborhood meeting and for participating in the <br />Comprehensive Planning process. <br />Mary Buri <br />Councilmember Burg noted there was an individual present from an item on the Consent <br />Agenda that would like to address the Council. <br />Benjamin Haver, Comcast representative, introduced himself to the Council and stated he <br />would be conducting door to door sales in New Brighton. <br />Councilmember Burg reviewed the City's upcoming newsletter and encouraged residents to <br />read through the Park and Recreation Departments spring and summer activities. She indicated <br />PREC would be meeting next on Wednesday, March 1St at 6:30 p.m. and noted the group <br />would be discussing a potential dog park in New Brighton. <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen thanked Councilmember Strub for acting as the Council Liaison at <br />the recent Planning Commission meeting. He stated he appreciated all of the individuals that <br />were interested in serving the City on its Commissions and Committees. <br />Mayor Johnson <br />Mayor Johnson discussed the City's Comprehensive Planning process and reviewed an activity <br />that the public could participate in in order to provide valuable input to the City Council.
